Today was about savoring. I made homemade oatmeal raisin cookies and it was nice to spend a little bit of time in the kitchen mixing all the ingredients to make something delicious. I could smell the cookies as they were baking and it was a delicious smell that I love to have. I love the smell of something fresh in the oven whether it be cakes or cookies. I miss getting to spend time in the kitchen but when I have time I love to bake and make new and interesting things. My favorite is to decorate cakes and see what kind of ideas I can come up with. Something I want to savor more is making myself take time to write and get all these ideas out of my head.
Of what's to come
This blog will have information about things that I find interesting historically and also a look at some of the stories I have written.

Day 1 of the 5 day challenge from Jeff Goins
First day challenge was to take a walk for about 15 minutes and take in your surroundings. Mine doesn't change much when I walk outside. I saw that today the clouds were getting very gray and the clouds were heavy with rain that was waiting to fall on the parched ground we have here in Texas. I love looking out over the hills of Kerrville and seeing the greens of the trees and just try to go back and imagine what life was like back in the day. I saw the greens of the trees today and felt the wind blow and whistle through the trees.

The slow down challenge with Jeff Goins
I know this isn't a history thing but it's a five day challenge that I am going to try suggested by author Jeff Goins. I will post on here what is going on and if I actually completed the challenges. Good luck to all participating. And I hope to be putting some stuff on here soon as soon as I get everything situated.

Purpose of this blog
So the purpose of this blog is to put out some historical information that I find interesting and also to put out my newest attempt at writing a historical romance so bear with me as I plug along and figure out where I am going with this page. I will be adding bits and pieces of history I find interesting and even put pieces of my own history here on the page as a way to let people know who I am and where I came from so to speak.
